Adult Code of Conduct
Parents, guardians, and fans play an important role in creating a positive youth sports environment. By participating in Roy Gayle Pony Baseball / Softball programs, we agree to support our players, coaches, and officials by following the expectations outlined below.
- I/We will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, umpires, and league officials at every game, practice, or league event.
- I/We will place the emotional and physical well-being of my child ahead of my personal desire to win.
- I/We will insist that my child plays in a safe and healthy environment.
- I/We will support coaches and officials working with my child in order to encourage a positive and enjoyable experience for everyone.
- I/We will demand a sports environment that is free from drugs and alcohol and will refrain from their use at youth sporting events.
- I/We will remember that the game is for youth — not adults.
- I/We will do my very best to make youth sports fun for my child.
- I/We will ask my child to treat other players, coaches, fans, and officials with respect regardless of race, sex, creed, or ability.
- I/We will help my child enjoy the experience by supporting the program through respectful fandom, volunteering, assisting with coaching, transportation, or other league needs.
- I/We will abide by all rules and regulations of Roy Gayle Pony Baseball / Softball and understand that I am responsible for reading and knowing them.
- I/We agree to accept all decisions of game officials, umpires, coaches, and the Board of Directors as being fair and made to the best of their ability.
- I/We will not engage in unsportsmanlike conduct with any official, coach, player, or parent including booing, taunting, refusing to shake hands, or using profane language or gestures.
- I/We agree to furnish the proper documentation required by Roy Gayle Pony Baseball / Softball for my child to participate.
- Any disrespect from a parent or fan directed toward officials, board members, volunteers, or game staff may be referred to the Board of Directors for disciplinary action and may result in game forfeiture.
- I/We accept responsibility for the behavior of any guest, relative, or guardian attending games on our behalf.
- I/We agree to follow the proper chain of command when voicing concerns or filing complaints.
- I/We will teach my child to play by the rules and resolve conflicts without hostility or violence.
